Bethanne Petrylak holds degrees from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania (Bachelors of Arts in Sociology) and Seton Hill University (Masters of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy). Bethanne is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 10 years of clinical experience. She is also a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist credentialed through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. Bethanne has experience working with children, adults, and families and is committed to making therapy accessible for all.
Bethanne’s passion and main area of expertise is treating eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. Prior to her work in private practice, she provided care to higher need clients at the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care. She practices from a Health at Every Size perspective and prioritizes inclusivity. She values being empathetic to a client’s current needs and supports them through their eating disorder recovery journey. Bethanne is happy to work collaboratively with all treatment team members including dietitian, psychiatrist, and physician. She is also experienced in treating co-occurring diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Bethanne is happy to see clients 12+ who are experiencing eating concerns.
Bethanne is an eclectic therapist and enjoys using various evidence-based modalities to meet her clients needs. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral, Exposure Response Prevention, and Emotional Focused therapy. Bethanne wants her clients to connect to their thoughts, feelings, and emotions to address the root of their presenting concerns. Bethanne values the importance of getting to know her clients and tailoring treatment to their individual needs. Bethanne prides herself on an inclusive environment for all of her clients.
